Another year brings another leaf - and this time more than one! For the seventh time Raben Group has been honoured with POLITYKA's Gold Leaf, and additionally with the Green Leaf awarded for the first time in this edition for the achievements in the field of climate policy, and with a special award for activities supporting the implementation of the global Sustainable Development Goals - for the Logistics Powered by Green Energy project.
Sustainability and striving for climate neutrality are the key elements of Raben Group's strategic actions. The company consistently pursues its strategy focusing on three pillars: environmental protection, responsible business and social impact. No wonder that it was awarded again by the POLITYKA weekly, Deloitte consultancy and the Responsible Business Forum, which for the 11th time honoured Polish leaders of sustainability and ESG as part of the POLITYKA's CSR Leaves initiative. As many as 82 companies were recognized in this year's edition. The Golden Leaf presented also to Raben Group went to 21 companies.
Additionally, to highlight the importance of the climate transformation, a new category was introduced to the list for the first time this year: POLITYKA's Green Leaf. It honours 14 companies for which reducing climate impact, combating climate change and adapting to these conditions are key elements of strategic business and stakeholder relations. This award also went to Raben.
For a company to grow in a truly sustainable way requires not only forward thinking and bold decisions, but also systematic work and daily efforts to turn plans into tangible results. In our case, enthusiasm and ambition in setting goals go hand in hand with consistency and determination, which resulted in the awards we have received. We are extremely proud of them, but also motivated to keep going - said Ewelina Jabłońska-Gryżenia, Head of Sustainability at Raben Group.
POLITYKA's CSR Leaves are accompanied by a review of initiatives supporting the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. This year, these included good practices relating to Goal 13 on environmental and climate protection. The aim was to showcase best practices in adaptation and mitigation of climate impact, in line with the concept and agenda of the EU Green Deal, Taxonomy, Fit for 55. In this area Raben Group also received an award for the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), i.e. the Logistics Powered by Green Energy project. Under the agreement, between 2023 and 2029 Raben Group in Poland will use 100% green energy. Dedicated photovoltaic farms will be built with a total area of about 40 hectares and a capacity of about 35 MWp, supplying 35,000 MWh per year - which is the entire demand for electricity in all facilities of the Group in Poland. It is worth mentioning that the company has already been using guaranteed renewable energy since 2021.
