The Best Driver of Raben Logistics Polska

2018.03.27
A good driver is priceless and at the time when representatives of this profession are scarce they are worth their weight in gold. This is the reason why Raben Logistics Polska keeps quarterly rankings of the best drivers as part of the motivational program in order to strengthen the relations with the cooperating drivers and to attract the best of them to work. One of the winners, who has been on the podium already three times, is Tomasz Cybulski who works for the Gądki depot.

The contest for the best driver of Raben Logistics Polska, which is a part of the wider motivational loyalty program, has been organized since the second quarter of 2017 During that time over 300 drivers have been recognized.

“Three editions of the contest are already behind us and the idea itself was enthusiastically received by the drivers. Thanks to the program they feel appreciated and noticed They see that Raben Group treats their work with respect” – says Agnieszka Cynkier, Area Manager for Cooperation with Carriers, Raben Logistics Polska.

Some drivers have been on the podium a few times in a row. This is the case of Tomasz Cybulski who works for the Gądki depot. In the second quarter of 2017 he was the 3rd, in the third quarter he was the best and later, in the fourth quarter, he was the second on podium.

“Generally speaking there is no recipe for victory; you just have to be the best and do your best. Naturally everyone would like to be number one and stand on the podium at least once be unfortunately that's not possible.” – says Tomasz Cybulski, a driver of Raben Logistics Polska – “My boss is really glad that he has such a great worker. As for me, I simply love my job, there is always something to do, I’m always on the go and I always meet someone new.”

The contest aims at selecting and awarding drivers who achieve the best results in their respective depots in the area of provided transport services. The criteria taken into account include quality of deliveries, assigning shipment delivery statuses, number of loading/unloading places and other. The contest has two categories: drivers of “small” vehicles (delivery trucks and vans) and drivers of “large” vehicles (tractor-trailer sets and BDF trucks). The awards, prepaid Sodexo cards and the handshake of the boss, are presented to three best drivers every quarter.

“Each driver has its moment in the flashlights of cameras. Photos from the prize-giving ceremony are published on notice boards in depots so the drivers become more recognizable for their peers and for other Raben employees – explains Agnieszka Cynkier.

The drivers stress that the most important advantages of the contest are its accessibility to everyone, the fair chance of winning, its simplicity because the criteria taken into account are everyday work and and duties, as well as the fact that the award is presented directly to the winner with the tax paid for by the organizer. Everyone also mentions the immaterial aspect of the contest.

‘It's worth stressing that the financial aspect of the contest is not the most important. The crucial issue here is rather its social aspect. Drivers better identify with the company they work for. They see that engagement in their everyday duties brings measurable benefits, which makes them more motivated to work. A motivated driver, through the positive example, become a role model for his colleagues, which in turn influences better quality of everyday duties.” – comments Agnieszka Cynkier.
