Paperless 2.0

2024.06.18

The development of IT systems and digitization of processes not only improves everyday work but also enables the implementation of modern solutions. In Raben Logistics Polska, one of them is the Paperless 2.0 project, which is a continuation of the Paperless project initiated a few years ago, thanks to which paper consumption was significantly reduced, including by giving up paper waybills.

20 years ago, a characteristic feature of many offices in transport and logistics companies were loud dot matrix printers and endless harmonicas of waybills flowing from these devices. However, much has changed since then. Not only ecological awareness has developed, but also technology has developed, thanks to which paper is slowly becoming a thing of the past. And so, in Raben Logistics Polska, from 2024, the driver's only working tool is a mobile terminal, which is used to administer shipments and contact the dispatcher. So far, the recipient confirmed receipt of the shipment on a paper delivery card. After the change and implementation of Paperless 2.0. the recipient signs on the driver's device, i.e. a terminal whose dimensions resemble a traditional smartphone.

Raben has been focusing on sustainable development for years, and the mentioned project is another one that will contribute, among other things, to reducing paper consumption. An additional value is the improvement of the ergonomics of drivers' work, as they have access to all the necessary data on one device and do not have to carry a stack of documents with them. The benefit for the customer is an automatically generated electronic delivery confirmation document with the recipient's signature transferred from the mobile terminal, just a few minutes after the delivery, and:

  • shorter delivery confirmation process by the recipient (the recipient confirms acceptance of several shipments with one signature)
  • faster access to documents confirming deliveries - visible in myRaben just a few minutes after delivery of the shipment;
  • immediate information on the replacement of returnable packaging (in the case of the ROP service);
  • comprehensive data regarding confirmation of receipt of the shipment: signature of the recipient and his/her details (name and surname), date and time of signature, exact place of signature (geographical coordinates).

The bonus of the solution is also saving paper and caring for the natural environment, which fits perfectly into activities for sustainable development - important both for our customers and for us.

In Raben, dot matrix printers have been noisy in offices for a long time. There are no CMR and Delivery Card printouts. Instead, solutions are introduced to increase cost efficiency and provide the best service to customers. Service - without paper.
