Fresh Logistics expands its logistics centre in Robakowo near Poznań

2023.04.20
A modern warehouse was built in Wielkopolska region, handling fresh goods at controlled temperature, the so-called cross-dock with an area of over 2 300 m2. Thanks to the new investment, the distribution centre in Robakowo has a transit warehouse of nearly 4300 m2.

The new investment began in June 2022 and included the construction of a  transshipment warehouse with a two-storey office part, a photovoltaic installation with a capacity of 150 kWp, the necessary infrastructure and an internal communication system along with the development of full-discipline executive designs.  The facility is an extension of the existing cross-dock by an additional 22 unloading ramps.

Detailed designs had to take into account many issues related to the functional expansion of the facility completed at the beginning of this century -  says Waldemar Pernak, Key Account Director from Dekpol Budownictwo. -  Interference in the functioning system of the installation and the construction of the existing building required special attention to ensure the undisturbed operation of the functioning facility. Smooth overcoming of this challenge was possible thanks to very good cooperation with the Raben and Fresh Logistics team involved in the investment.

The official opening of the new cross-dock warehouse took place on March 20, 2023.

Thanks to the expansion of the infrastructure, we have gained greater warehouse capacity, but also an opportunity to develop our region.  The new warehouse is also an investment in ecology. Thanks to the installed photovoltaic panels and a heat pump, we implement the assumptions of the Raben Group's ESG strategy. It aims to  reduce emissions and  greenhouse gases by 2030 and support the implementation of the Paris Agreements  commitments to  limitthe temperature increase to below 2 degrees Celsius" – comments Aleksandra Paszak, Regional Director, Fresh Logistics Polska.

The new investment concerns not only infrastructure, but also a number of optimization activities aimed at building paperless logistics i.a. 100% digitization of documents accompanying deliveries, which are made available to customers online.  All these done in accordance with the company's strategy - Better Everyday.
