2024.10.30

Raben Transport, part of the international logistics operator Raben Group, has been recognized in the “Green Industry Diamonds” competition, organized by the Executive Club, with a distinction in the Sustainable Logistics Leader category. The jury acknowledged two of the carrier’s projects aimed at emission reduction: the daily use of HVO100 biofuel by its fleet and the implementation of a VR Truck Simulator for driver training and recruitment.

The “Green Industry Diamonds” competition promotes individuals and companies whose efforts stimulate growth through production improvement, increased efficiency, and enhanced competitiveness. Raben Transport earned recognition in one of the nine categories, Sustainable Logistics Leader. To qualify, a supply chain management service provider must use advanced technological solutions to enhance logistics efficiency and reduce emissions. The awards ceremony took place during the Green Industry Summit on October 22, 2024, at Stara Zajezdnia in Kraków. Representing Raben Transport at the Gala were Konrad Pożoga, Operations Director, and Joanna Górna, Key Account Manager.

"This is a truly unique honor, as this time the jury recognized our environmental commitment and innovation," commented Joanna Górna, Key Account Manager at Raben Transport. "Our introduction of HVO100 and the VR Truck Simulator at Raben Transport addresses contemporary challenges. In this way, we not only reduce our carbon footprint but also support the development of sustainable logistics, while focusing on operational efficiency and driver skill enhancement. We believe our actions will significantly contribute to achieving climate goals for both our company and the entire transport sector."

Raben Transport specializes in comprehensive handling of full truckloads, both international and domestic, as well as intermodal services. The company operates on three main pillars: its own fleet, contracted fleet, and collaboration with dedicated carriers, ensuring operational flexibility and security. Raben Transport is committed to developing sustainable transport, including investments in low-emission vehicles. For two years, it has collaborated with IKEA Industry and Volvo Trucks on a project where three electric trucks transport loads between two IKEA factories, working with 24-ton trailers, making up to 36 deliveries daily across three shifts, six days a week. Additionally, this year, Raben Transport launched two key initiatives that align with its decarbonization and innovation strategy, gaining the jury's recognition.

The company has set an ambitious target for 10% of its fleet to use alternative fuels by 2025, with HVO100 – a biofuel made from renewable resources that can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 90% – playing a key role. This fuel marks a significant step toward decarbonizing transport without the need for new vehicle or infrastructure investments. In February 2024, Raben Transport began testing this fuel on two semi-trucks operating international routes. Currently, approximately 5% of Raben Group's fleet uses HVO100, with plans for further expansion.

Efforts toward sustainable transport are further supported by the VR Truck Simulator, an industry-first tool that enables driver training in eco-driving and route optimization in realistic conditions without fuel consumption, thereby reducing emissions. The skills gained, if properly applied on the road, can additionally help lower the carbon footprint.

The “Green Industry Diamonds” competition is organized by the Executive Club, which brings together top management representatives from established companies across various industries. For over ten years, it has awarded prizes, with this competition format now in its third iteration. In this edition’s final, 31 enterprises were selected, with eight receiving the title of laureate and three receiving a distinction.
