Raben Transport supports Leroy Merlin Polska in achieving climate goals

2025.04.29

As a logistics partner of Leroy Merlin Polska, Raben Transport actively supports the implementation of innovative and sustainable transport solutions. Collaboration on the use of HVO100 (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) biofuel in freight is another step towards green logistics and a reduction in CO2 emissions of up to 90%.

HVO100 - a viable alternative to diesel and a significant reduction in emissions

Raben Transport has been testing HVO100 biofuel in its fleet since February 2024 and is developing its refuelling infrastructure to offer customers the greenest possible service. Now, Leroy Merlin Polska is also joining the ranks of companies using this alternative solution to actively reduce their carbon footprint along the entire logistics chain by using fuel produced from waste fat and vegetable oils.

- HVO100 complies with EURO 6 emission standards and can be used in most diesel vehicles without modification. It is a solution that enables immediate action - no fleet replacement, no downtime, with a real benefit for the climate - emphasises Joanna Górna, Key Account Manager responsible for the development of low-emission solutions at Raben Transport.

Investments in infrastructure and technology for sustainable development

As part of its decarbonisation strategy, Raben Transport is planning to have 10% of its truck fleet using low-carbon drives by the end of 2025. A key element in the implementation of this strategy is the commissioning of its own HVO100 refuelling stations - the first of which became operational in November 2024 and more are in the planning stages.

- Our cooperation with Leroy Merlin Polska is an example of a partnership that goes beyond the traditional customer - logistics operator relationship. Together, we are creating solutions that have a real impact on the environment and are setting a new standard for responsibility in the industry - adds Górna.

Shared responsibility for the climate

With the implementation of HVO100, Leroy Merlin is planning to make 7% of deliveries using this biofuel by the end of 2025, with this share already expected to rise to 11.5% in the first quarter of 2026. Such measures fit perfectly with the company's climate goals, and Raben Transport is proud to support these ambitions by providing tested, safe and certified solutions.

- At Leroy Merlin Polska, we have been taking measures to reduce the environmental impact of logistics processes for years. The primary one is naturally the continuous improvement of transport efficiency, optimisation of routes and fills - we work with our partners on an ongoing basis in this regard. At the same time, we continue to look for new solutions with decarbonisation potential and vehicles using HVO biofuel in place of diesel is another example. And cooperation with Raben Transport allows us to exchange experience and accelerate the implementation of green fuels in Poland - emphasises Rafał Kowalik, Supply Chain Director at Leroy Merlin Polska.

HVO100 used by Raben Transport meets strict European sustainability standards, which guarantees its quality and transparency of origin while maintaining environmental benefits and the principles of circular economy.
