On April 23, 2019, Raben Group head office was visited by a dozen or so senior students from the IT class of Adam Mickiewicz High School No. VIII in Poznań. How was their day in the logistics company? It started with a must-have for any such visit, i.e. health and safety training. Apart from standard safety information, students, most of whom are beginner drivers, got acquainted with the educational platform on road safety.
The next item on the agenda was a series of practical presentations and IT workshops. Although Raben is mostly associated with transport and logistics, IT systems are the cornerstone of these two processes. Referring to the social campaign run by the company, whose aim is to promote the role of transport in the modern world through slogans: “No transport, no yoghurt” and “No transport, no redecoration”, we can also say that: NO IT, NO TRANSPORT. In order to meet the requirements of the dynamic transport industry in Raben Group, each day 140 IT specialists are responsible for the development and maintenance of the most important applications.
Students could not only meet experienced specialists, but also independently work on test environments of our key systems. The senior students had the opportunity to work, among others, on such programs as Qlik Sense - a modern Business Intelligence class system used for visual data analysis. They also used Mendix - a platform providing tools for creating and implementing web applications adapted to contemporary standards and requirements of end devices. Bartosz Więckowski, a junior IT administrator, who started working at Raben Group from the student internship, was among the leaders of the workshop. Bartosz told aspiring students of computer science about how important it is to combine the acquisition of theoretical knowledge in higher education with practical experience.
The meeting with students was also an opportunity to show them the company from the IT and the social side. They could learn that Raben Group employees live not only for work, but after their duties, they engage in many social initiatives, e.g. they actively participate in the “e-invoice=higher culture” campaign (https://polska.raben-group.com/aktualnosci/news/ekipa-raben-sadzi-las/). The crowning moment of an intense day was a short workshop on CV writing.

Secondly, the Group is well aware that the key to the hearts of customers are high-quality, intuitive IT systems - that is why it focuses on modern solutions fit for contemporary requirements. Thirdly, Raben is one of the few companies on the Poznań labour market with European headquarters of an international organization - working here has a real impact on decisions and projects affecting the shape of the entire business and industry.
