From Grodzisk to Chlebnia - the new Raben depot

Raben Logistics Polska is continuously developing while streamlining procedures and ensuring the highest standards of customer service. The company is investing in new technologies and innovative solutions, as well as in warehouses which comply with the highest safety and quality standards. That is why, with customers and employees in mind, a decision had been made to build new warehouses in Chlebnia and relocate the depot from Grodzisk Mazowiecki.

“The old depot in Grodzisk Mazowiecki was getting a little too tight for us.” – explains Jolanta Sawińska, Area Director, Raben Logistics Polska – “Due to the development of our customers and the consequent surge in volumes and their expectations, we decided to move to a bigger and more modern location. It is worth stressing that we have been operating from this commune for over 20 years now. One of the reasons for that is the approach of the Mayor and the local authorities who ensure favourable investment climate for business in Grodzisk Mazowiecki.

The new depot in Chlebnia comprises two independent warehouses: a cross-dock with the capacity of approx. 8000 m² and a high-storage warehouse with the capacity of 34 000 m², which can store approx. 50,000 pallets. The investment has been completed by Panattoni Europe.

“The three tailor-made buildings, including a cross-dock, with the total area of 42.5 thousand square meters are the latest development by Panattoni Europe for Raben Logistics Polska. They belong to one of the most strategic locations – the Panattoni Park Grodzisk III. The compound is located near the Grodzisk Mazowiecki junction of A2 motorway and the planned bypass road around Grodzisk Mazowiecki. It is a key location for customers who focus on logistics services for both Warsaw and the domestic market. That us why I’m glad we could offer such a beneficial location for our long-standing client”. – says Marek Dobrzycki, Managing Director, Panattoni Europe.

Each day the facility is able to handle over 4,000 shipments and accept, unload and load about 265 trucks. Additionally, the new location has an office building with the usable area of 2,600 m² and a parking facility for 214 cars and 65 trucks. At present Chlebnia employs the total of 315 people in the office and warehouses and the depot cooperates with 60 subcontractors who employ 279 drivers.

“We decided to choose this location for our new depot due to its strategic location, the infrastructure meeting the needs of investors and the favourable policy of the local authorities.”  – explains Janusz Anioł, General Director, Raben Logistics Polska, and he adds – “The new investments accounts for over 40% of warehouse capacity of Raben Logistics Polska in the region of Mazovia. It was also another professional project completed together with Panattoni, who knows our needs and is always ready to respond to them.”

Chlebnia is a modern and also ecological facility. The used solutions allow for limiting the consumption of electricity, gas and water. For instance, the warehouses are equipment with LED lighting and the roof lights allow for continuous access of natural light. They also have modern gas radiators used for heating. The office building has a mechanical ventilation with heat recovery. The facility also has an appropriate amount of hydrants corresponding to the layout of racks. This allows for increasing the level of fire safety.

Safety is paramount for the company which is exemplified by the signal light installation at all docks - loading ramps.  It informs about the availability of the ramp and about when it is safe for the driver to leave the ramp after loading.
