Fresh Logistics Polska says NO to food waste!

2019.03.26
For many years now, Raben Group, including Fresh Logistics Polska, has been cooperating with Food Banks because as a logistics operator providing services for fresh products, we want to support and promote responsible consumption.

Considering that Poles waste 235 kg of food per person annually, in terms of a statistical inhabitant, we are in fifth in the European Union. As a responsible partner in business, Fresh Logistics Polska said “NO” to food waste by supporting the actions of Food Banks. Our help consists in organizing transports for food products that would be destined for disposal because of, for instance, too best-before date and consequently no possibility of reaching store shelves. Such products are still wholesome, and although they can’t reach supermarkets, they can get to the people in need.  This was the case of the joint venture of Fresh Logistics Polska with our customer, Arla Foods. Together, we have transferred over 13 tons of food products to the Food Banks in Piła, Poznań, Słupsk and Chojnice.

It was a quick action - a few phone calls, e-mails, no unnecessary formalities, and delicious treats from Arla Foods went to those who needed them by a Fresh Logistics truck"”- comments Ewa Chwiłkowska, marketing specialist at Fresh Logistics Polska. "We are happy that more and more of our customers put forward an initiative of supporting Food Banks with their products through our company. This is the best proof that Fresh Logistics is a socially responsible partner in their eyes” - adds Ewa Chwiłkowska.

We are convinced that the cooperation between Food Banks, Fresh Logistics Polska and our customers will result in more interesting projects that share the same noble goal - helping those in need.
