As part of the development of the warehousing infrastructure of Fresh Logistics Polska, a modern temperature-controlled warehouse with the capacity of over 7,500 m² has been built in Grodzisk Mazowiecki near Warsaw. After the completion of the investment, the logistics centre in Grodzisk Mazowiecki has 18,564 m2 of warehouse capacity, with the possibility to store almost 23,000 pallets at temperatures from 0 to +2°C and +2 to +6°C.
The development is located at ul. Transportowa, in the immediate vicinity of regional road 579, just 4 km from the A2 Motorway, which is an important junction for national and international transport.
The distribution centre in Grodzisk Mazowiecki comprises 3,340 m2 of cross-docking space and 15,224 m2 of high-bay warehouse. To complement the range of goods that can be stored in this warehouse, the development includes a special UltraFresh zone for the storage of foodstuffs at 0 to +2°C (e.g. fresh meat and fish).
Time is of the essence in logistics of fresh produce. Timely delivery of services while maintaining the highest quality and, most importantly, food safety, is key. The new development meets these requirements through efficient topography, innovative infrastructure and IT solutions. Only continuous development is a guarantee of success and a way to build a competitive advantage not only for our company, but above all for our business partners - explains Tomasz Polański, Regional Director.
The warehouse is equipped with a state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly ammonia-based refrigeration system, which also provides for the possibility of heating up to 15°C. It has full monitoring of the operations and status of the equipment by means of IT systems to guarantee the correct temperature and therefore the safety of stored products.
The company has invested in modern, environmentally safer lithium-ion forklifts, which are more efficient due to their long operating times and guarantee better handling capacities. Other interesting solutions include the so-called dock houses equipped with electric loading ramps and a system of electronic chocks combined with traffic lights to regulate traffic on individual ramps outside and inside the warehouse.
The safety of our employees, subcontractors and our neighbours is a non-negotiable value for us. Hence, when constructing new facilities, we equip them with state-of-the-art systems, such as fire protection in the form of automatic smoke dampers, sprinkler systems and fire doors, which are a standard, while also bearing in mind the construction of sound-absorbing acoustic fences - comments Sławomir Babicz, Regional Operations Director.
However, this is not the end of new investments by Fresh Logistics in the region. Next year, the company intends to start construction of a modern and independent logistics facility in Łomża on an area of almost 2.5 ha. It will provide comprehensive temperature-controlled logistics services, i.e. distribution, warehousing, additional services such as packaging or VAS (e.g. creation of promotional kits). The implementation of the investment will involve hiring new staff and establishing partnerships with transport service providers.
