Driver of the Year in Fresh Logistics Polska

2018.06.27
Fresh Logistics Polska is perfectly aware of the current market realities related to the deficit of drivers and makes every effort to create attractive working conditions. One of the ways to diversify work and increase the level of motivation is the Fresh Logistics Driver of the Year competition organized which has been organized for many years now. This year's winner is Marek Sakowski from the branch in Gądki.

For several years now, businesses have been struggling with hiring new drivers. It is estimated that the contemporary job market in Poland lacks approximately 100,000 drivers and by 2025 this deficit of drivers will have grown to 300,000. So far businesses have tried to acquire drivers by offering them more and more attractive employment conditions, both in terms of salaries and perks. In 2017 the deficit in driver supply on the job market became so serious that even really attractive job offers remain unanswered. That is why logistic companies must look for more and more innovative ways to attract or retain the best professionals.

One of such methods is the Fresh Logistics Driver of the Year competition organized for years now, in which all participants are evaluated in terms of five criteria. Elements taken into account are timely delivery, timely delivery of documents, updating quality statuses, pallet accounts and wearing the company outfit. In each branch, the Driver of the Month is selected first, then the Driver of the Year in the particular FLP distribution centre, until finally the best of the best, i.e. the Driver of the Year in Fresh Logistics, is chosen.

This year, the champion was Marek Sakowski, who drives for the Fresh Logistics Polska branch in Gądki. It is worth mentioning that Marek has been connected with the company since its beginning. The winner emphasizes: “There is no patent for winning, you just have to work and not think about winning, and perhaps the victory will come on its own” - and adds - “this is a sports rivalry and other drivers don’t take it the wrong way and just congratulate me on the victory”.

As a company, we strive to promote this interesting yet difficult profession of a truck driver. We can’t forget that if it were not for our drivers, our business would not exist. We run many projects to build partnership relations with our carriers and drivers, e.g. apart from the competition for drivers, every year we organize relational meetings and we periodically survey the level of satisfaction of our drivers so as to respond to their needs on a regular basis. We also try to engage them in CSR initiatives such as the Health Week.” - explains Ewa Chwiłkowska, Marketing and sales specialist at Fresh Logistics Polska.

Congratulations to Marek Sakowski and we wish you further successes!
