“Don’t be wild!” on the road - Raben e-training for drivers

2018.07.04
Health and safety is a priority for Raben Group. For years, the company has been building a robust safety culture among its employees and suppliers, and it cares not only for the education of its staff but also of all road users: motorists and pedestrians. That is why, in July 2018, the “Don’t be wild!” educational platform dedicated to road safety will be launched. The platform is available on the website www.niebadzdziki.pl .

Health and safety is non-negotiable in Raben Group. Each day the company dispatches over 4,000 means of transport inside Poland and it is aware of the importance of managing behaviours on the road in a manner which would allow them to reach the destination safely, regardless of the fact if that is a delivery to the most distant corner of the Earth or the way home.” The Group feels responsible not only for its drivers, but also for other road users, which is why it wants to raise the awareness of all of them. For this purpose, the company has launched an open interactive educational platform about road safety.

“We care not just about our employees and suppliers, but we also take actions for the benefit of society. After all, we are all road users, as drivers or pedestrians. We believe that knowledge and understanding of hazards on the road will help us avoid accidents and protect the health and lives of our loved ones and other road users.” - explains Grażyna Łukasik, Safety, Health and Environment Project Manager, Raben Group, and she adds - “Everyone is invited to learn and play with our application. It takes only 20 minutes to significantly improve road safety.”

Every year, about 25,000 people die on the European Unions roads. In Poland alone, there are over 33,000 accidents in which about 3,000 people die annually. Main causes of accidents are disregarding the right of way, speeding, keeping the wrong distance between vehicles, but also dangerous behaviour of pedestrians.

In order to raise awareness of Poles on the road and to build an co-dependent safety culture, safety  specialists from Raben Group, in cooperation with drivers, have developed a dedicated, educational platform. It offers an e-training course in the form of 10 thematic animations which show selected principles of safe behaviour on roads and manoeuvring yards and which affect the safety of all road users.

“Through its content and the easily accessible animated form, the application encourages people not to be wild on the road, to respect other road users and to pay attention to the forest fauna appearing along the roads.” - explains Jakub Krzewina, CSR coordinator in Raben Group - “Additionally, it reminds us of how important it is to stay vigilant while driving, that is, not to use mobile phones, not to eat while driving, keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front of us, focus 100% on what is happening on the road here and now.”

The training is mainly intended for truck and car drivers, but all road users can benefit from it. Each user, having watched the 10 animations, will receive a certificate of completion of the course with the slogan “Don’t be wild”, which can be shared using a special function on Facebook and Linkedin, to encourage others to safe behaviours on the road. However, Raben Group employees and drivers who log into to the platform by name, are additionally required to complete a quiz consisting of 15 questions about behaviours on the road. A positive result generates a certificate of completion.

The platform is available on the website www.niebadzdziki.pl for the following browsers: Mozilla, Safari, Chrome, Opera and Internet Explorer /MS Edge, as well as for mobile devices with the minimum screen resolution 1280x720 px and the systems Android 5.0 or higher, as well as for iOS 9.0 or higher.

In addition, the communication will be supported by dedicated fragrances and stickers for cars with the logotype of the campaign and the slogan “Don’t be wild” and by dedicated communication on Raben Group Facebook.

The platform was created in cooperation with a company specializing in on-line training, Smart Education.
